The KC Jazz Ambassadors welcome you to contact us. We want you have a great Kansas City jazz experience. We also feel that it is important for you to be able to contact a real person who will try to help you with your questions, comments and other jazz needs.

We find that most people who contact us want information about upcoming jazz events, suggestions on where to hear live Kansas City jazz, KCJA memberships and JAM Magazine subscriptions, or specific information about KC jazz history and artists. Here are a few FAQs and answers that will hopefully save you some time.

FAQ: When is the jazz festival?
Answer: There are several different jazz festivals in the Kansas City area, most of which occur during the summer months. The KCJA is not the primary sponsor of any of these events although we do provide volunteer assistance to most of them. Please click on Events and Festivals for current information.

FAQ: I am interested in a Private Pub Crawl. How do I get more information?
Answer: These are smaller pub crawls for private groups such as members of a convention held in KC or various civic organizations. We've even organized Private Pub Crawls for birthday parties, wedding parties and divorces. Whatever the reason, if you can gather approximately 30 people together, we will show you a memorable and jazzy evening in KC. Please click on Private Pub Crawls for more information. And you can send an email to jaminicrawls01@jazzkc.org to learn more or to start the process of booking your private crawl.

FAQ: I will be in town soon (or on specific dates). Who's playing then? And/or where is the best place to go to hear jazz?
Answer: That's hard to say if you are inquiring very far in advance. But check "News & Notes" in the current online issue of JAM, or click on "Wholenotes" for the most current information we have about upcoming jazz events and performances. Also, you can hear more up-to-date specifics by calling the Jazz Hotline at 816.753.5277 the week before you arrive. And to view the clubs most likely to be presenting live jazz while you are here, visit our Club Scene, either online or in the print version of JAM. If you still need more information, send email to info@jazzkc.org.

FAQ: My organization is having a jazz event. Will you help me get the word out?
Answer: You may send your news information to us. For JAM Magazine, the deadline is the 15th of each ODD-numbered month. For Wholenotes, the deadline is the 15th of each EVEN-numbered month. Send information to jameditor@jazzkc.org.

FAQ: How do I subscribe to JAM?
Answer: Please visit Subscribe for appropriate forms.

FAQ: How do I become a member of the Jazz Ambassadors?
Answer: Please visit Join KCJA Today.

FAQ: Is my membership/subscription current? When does my membership/subscription expire?
Answer: Please send email to membership@jazzkc.org.

FAQ: I need a band for my event. Who should I contact or hire?
Answer: Although we are not a booking agency and are not in the business of providing bands, we may be able to provide you with some guidance. Check the Music Mart in the back of a recent issue of JAM for the most currently listing and contact information of local and surrounding area artist.

FAQ: I would like to advertise in JAM. Who do I contact?
Answer: Contact Ed Fenner at 816.350.7266.

FAQ: I would like to cross link to your site. How can we arrange that?
Answer: Please send email to webmaster@jazzkc.org.

FAQ: I would like to be listed in JAM's Music Mart. Who do I contact?
Answer: Music Mart is part of our paper copy of JAM Magazine and is not presented online at this time. Listings are restricted to Kansas City area professional musicians and bands. Please send email to jameditor@jazzkc.org. Include your name, address, instrument and a brief description of your playing experience. If it's for a band listing, please include the name of the group and a brief summary your group's performance history.

FAQ: I would like to have my CD reviewed by JAM. How do I do that?
Answer: With rare exceptions, the vast majority of CDs reviewed in JAM are by KC-connected artists. While we can't promise reviews of everything we receive, you are free to send review copies to: Editor/JAM, P.O. Box 36181, Kansas City, MO 64171.

FAQ: I would like to volunteer to work at one of your events or to be on a committee. How do I do that?
Answer: Please visit our Volunteering page. You may submit your request there. For more information, send email to volunteer@jazzkc.org.

FAQ: I'd like to know more about some of your merchandise. Who do I contact?
Answer: Please visit our Merchandise page. For more information, please send email to mdse@jazzkc.org.

FAQ: I'd like to know what your organization is doing to further jazz education.
Answer: Please send email to jazzeduc@jazzkc.org.
